Delete that email

Do you really need to keep that email?  Are you sure?

Yes, we all know that there are emails that need to be kept for a long time.  And there's nothing wrong with that.  If it truly needs to be kept, then it must be kept.  But, if you're just keeping it because you think there might be some small chance that you'll want to see it again someday, I urge you to consider deleting it.  In all likelihood, you'll never look at it again and it (along with all the other emails you do the same thing with) will contribute to the clutter in your mailbox, making it harder to find the stuff you do need

And what about that document that you emailed back and forth to folks a dozen times?  How many copies of that do you need to keep?  Save the document (and any needed revisions) to your "My Documents" folder and delete the attachments from the messages.  If you need to, rename the files to more descriptive names so you can find them again later.
